The International Conference on Biomass for Biofuels and Value-Added Products 2012 (ICBBVAP 2012) is an international conference organized by Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), and Higher Education Leadership Academy (AKEPT). ICBBVAP 2012 will be bringing together 300 participants from various areas of expertise from the industries, research institutions, government agencies and institutions of higher learning.
The theme for this year's conference is "Innovative Technologies Towards Global Commercialization of Biomass Based Value-Added Products". This conference is designed to disseminate the latest technology, activities and R&D findings in the utilization of biomass for biofuel and other value-added products to the private sector, researchers, academics, industrialists and policy makers.
The conference targets the number of participants including presenters and exhibitors of between 250 - 300 persons. In order to ensure a more effective and fruitful discourse, a balanced mix of participation between academia, government agencies, organizations and industry will be targeted. Specifically, researchers, academics, policy makers, manufacturers, members of NGOs, exporters, importers, entrepreneurs, wood-based industries personnel, and individuals involved in product development, processing, trading and/or using of lignocellulosic biomass are targeted.
To allow a broader coverage of topics of interest and involvement of participants, a parallel event in the form of poster presentations and exhibition booths will be provided. Poster presentation will be evaluated for special awards.
In addition to conference program, we offer a complementary Business Matching and Networking Service to all delegates. The aim of this meeting is to promote and establish business and technology partnership by arranging one-to-one business meetings between delegates.
A series of lab sessions will be conducted to discuss and debate on specific issues of concern, and identify possible solutions and develop roadmap in bridging between research activities result and commercialization requirements. Sessions will be moderated by eminent scholars and personalities with panels selected from relevant organizations.
Biomass is abundant, renewable and traditionally used for cooking and heating rural household. It is believed that novel biomass conversion technologies is the main route of profitable way to transform efficiently biomass into biofuel and other value added products. This will directly help the economy and conserves the environment from poor waste management and utilization. Continue Reading»
